About

Rowena Post is an artist currently living and working in the mid north coast in Coffs Harbour. Working primarily on canvas in acrylic and oil painting, her works are layered with emotions and the mark making reflective of the chaos and joy that life creates.

Artworks with mixed media, acrylic and oil paint - working across figurative and abstract canvases - the natural and emotional world are created and stories told through the vivid palette and textures, drawings and mark makings.

Painting & Memory

Rowena studied art and teaching - Teaching all ages from Kindergarten to College students. Both classes, small group and private teaching in piano, violin and numerous art and music workshops. From the figurative to the abstract, going back to TAFE to study painting at NERAM under the tutoring of Ross Laurie helped to bring out more mark making and brought out the palette that is influenced by artists including Angus Nivison, Elizabeth Cummings, and the Australian surrealist James Gleeson.
